Introducing: Ms. Hilda's Adventure

About Ms. Hilda

Hilda Schryver

For more than 30 years, Hilda Schryver has emphasized manners to thousands of individuals in hundreds of corporations. Schryver is a specialist in customer service, phone etiquette, inter-office communications and image. She has fashioned her corporate consulting work into a wonderful adventure for young children.

Schryver learned the value of manners as a child, growing up in the San Antonio, Texas area. Her mother, Minnie, was a single mom who taught her five children the importance of having a good work ethic, respect, and morals.

These values have remained important to Schryver. She and her husband, Tim, passed them to their son Robbie. And now through her work as "Ms. Hilda," Schryver shares them with students across the country.

Schryver’s colorful workbook acts as a springboard for parents to communicate the benefits of good manners and proper behavior in a variety of everyday situations. Sitting together, parent and child, along with Ms. Hilda in her fancy red dress and silly hats, begin a dialogue about social behavior, etiquette and manners that affect success in life. Cleverly designed for children. Ms. Hilda’s Adventure Into the World of Manners guides young minds to discover the right way and the wrong way to maneuver through situations such as sharing, table manners, interrupting, whining, pushing and taking turns.

Comically illustrated with expressive reactions to these common situations, each lesson encourages the reader to think about how their actions affect others. It further conveys that rewards, such as smiles, love and friendship, come as a result of behaving in a proper manner.

A unique bonus to the book is a reward method that recognizes the child’s achievement. Parents may order an adorable, personalized bookmark — signed by Ms. Hilda — by filling out the Recognition Incentive Order Form enclosed with the book.

Ultimately, everyone feels better about themselves when respect and courtesy are used.

Ms. Hilda’s Adventure Into the World of Manners is an excellent learning tool, used also in preschools, day care centers, elementary classrooms, churches and library groups.

If you ask for the world in just the right way, you’ll probably get it! Children begin to learn this valuable lesson in Schryver's whimsical book, "Ms. Hilda’s Adventure Into the World of Manners."
